all the books in the library

from 12.00

Have you ever explored a library? I really love the old books found at universities, where there are whole floors of "stacks" and forgotten philosophy aisles where you can curl up to read undisturbed in a shaft of sunlight. How special it is to spend time with a lonely book touching yellowed paper and removing the fine layer of dust from the spine.  I also really enjoy the hunt, searching for literary gold in a packed bookshop where the shelves touch the ceiling. In Hobart we have "Cracked and Spineless" on Collins Street which is adequately mysterious and filled with treasure.

In this painting a high school student is in full retreat from lunch time noise and other people. She is so thirsty for books she has piled them up in front of her and even sequestered a cup of tea on the shelf.  Almost every book in this painting is named according to stories I have read and loved.  The front pile of books has Heidi and Walden, the books I read while painting this picture.

This is a print of, the original watercolour painting on cotton paper, and is available in four sizes; small (A5), medium (A4) large (A3) and Special Edition (A3plus). Each print is made from a high resolution image of the original painting and the image is as big as will fit comfortably with a border for framing.

All our prints are on archival papers and inks designed not to fade for 100+ years and are signed by the artist. Special Edition prints are our largest print measuring 13" x 19" inches and are made with museum quality cotton rag, which means that the entire print and packaging is tree free!

We provide free postage within Australia and New Zealand. We always endeavour to use 100% post consumer waste recycled paper and cardboard in our packaging.

Bless you dear kind people who like my art and find solace in dreaming. Through our dreams we will recreate our worlds to include more peace, connection and sweetness. Thank you for your interest in my art!  :D
